Description

This is a compact selection of the popular ‘Concha’ selection. Many customers have admired its small size and deep blue flowers in my front yard, so I thought I would make an effort to propagate a few. The mother plant was purchased from a local nursery as ‘Concha’ but it looks rather different than that selection in leaf, form and final size. I suspect that it was grown from seed taken from a ‘Concha’ and sold as ‘Concha’ (tsk tsk). ‘Conchita’ is somewhat similar in form and size to the ‘Wheeler Canyon’ selection, but the leaves are smaller on ‘Conchita.’ So all that can be said about this selection with confidence is that it’s the one in Larry’s front yard. The cuttings were taken from upright portions of the plant, near the center, so hopefully these will be true to the mother plant.
