Description

This is another popular selection of Verbena lilacina from Cedros Island (off the western coast of Baja California). Although not a part of California, Cedros Island has a Mediterranean climate and is considered part of the California Floristic Province (that portion of Oregon, California and Mexico that have a Mediterranean climate). It shares the growth habits and advantages of the ‘de la mina’ selection but grows slightly larger and has pink flowers with less violet/purple coloring. It also is great choice for a parking strip or other narrow spot where watering may be difficult. As the seed heads multiply, the flower production drops, so shearing off outer six inches of the plant every winter will keep the blooms coming. Exceptionally fragrant blooms!
