Description

Modesty is native to coastal mountains from San Luis Obispo County north into Oregon. It spreads to form an open patch of bright green leaves punctuated by small white flowers in spring. Modesty is notable for thriving with only occasional water in a shady setting, which is unusual for a native groundcover. Modesty is adaptable to a variety of soil drainages.
